The role: Policy Manager, Greece
As our Policy Manager for Greece you will represent Google and our policies externally before Greek policy-makers and and the broader public policy environment. Working within a cross-functional team of Google employees in Athens, as well as with a closely coordinated global Public Policy team, you will lead a variety of initiatives in support of Google's public policy objectives.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor, analyse and develop policy strategies in a variety of policy areas relevant to online services
* Engage on behalf of Google direct with politicians and policy-makers at every legislative level.
* Work with trade associations, industry partners, non-profit groups, and other to build support for policies that enable a consumer-focused online environment.
Requirements:
* BA/BS degree preferred with a strong academic record, as well as a keen interest in the Internet.
* Direct experience in one or more of the following fields: privacy, intellectual property, content regulation, telecoms and online safety.
* Direct experience working within national politics, government or think tank.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain good judgment in high-stress environments.
* Proven communicator with excellent one-on-one manner and presentation skills, as well as strong written skills and the ability to translate complex issues.
* Self starter with the ability to think, plan, and execute large projects.
* First-rate leadership, personal, political, and communications skills as well as a profound willingness to collaborate. Fluency in Greek and English are a prerequisite.
