Our client is a worldwide leader in the Travel Industry.
The HR Officer will be working in partnership with the HR Manager, to partner with key leaders in the organization to align HR practices with current and future business needs.
The HR Officer works closely as a strategic partner in implementing initiatives related to attracting, developing and retaining a talented and committed workforce by leveraging business relationships within the Human Resources team in the specific functional areas (i.e. Recruitment, L&D, Compensation and Benefits) .
The successful candidate will contribute to the formulation of HR policies, strategies and objectives that are complementary to, and supportive of, business needs and implement global and local HR Policies and Procedures.
Management
• To manage or support, the HR Manager in managing, all HR policies and procedures, both global and local.
• To proactively support local senior management in the implementation of appropriate people-related policies to support their business objectives and change initiatives.
• Proper HR investment, with a focus on significantly upgrading the capabilities of the organization in leadership and commercial development, with the aim to support the performance-oriented culture.
Employee Relations
• Provide specific advice and guidance and counsel/coach managers and employees on a variety of HR issues to ensure fair and consistent treatment across the organisation and to ensure departments are equipped to deal with changing business requirements/growth. These issues include HR policies, legislation, changing terms and conditions, benefits, hiring and on-boarding, career development, grievances, disciplinary issues, absence and performance issues, individual counselling, internal communication and terminations, conducting internal investigations and making recommendations to senior levels of HR and other management teams as appropriate.
• Additionally, the HR Business Partner will conduct exit interviews and track feedback and trending while providing feedback to Leadership regarding emerging trends or patterns within the organisation.
• Work with management teams on organisation issues contributing ideas, planning, implementing and communicating organisation change. Counselling leadership in team structure and conducting training session either live or via teleconference.
• Create, gain agreement on and implement specific HR policies as required by changing legislation or new business issues to enable the Company to proactively respond to changes while setting appropriate company standards.
• To ensure compliance of business operations to both local social legal framework and corporate strategy and values, implementing corporate policies and processes
Performance Management
• Assist in administration of Talent and Performance Management cycle. These activities may include counselling employees on the common review date process and timelines, providing training to managers/employees on the Performance Review/Appraisal system (Success Factors) and performance review forms and reporting on and communicating form documentation processes within the system.
Recruitment, Reward and Retention
• Assist in the creation of policies and procedures necessary to support all recruitment, where required.
• Ensure recruitment of high calibre staff to help achieve the business targets of each area, within budgeted staffing plans
• Identify, make recommendations and resolve any compensation and benefits issues with line managers, e.g. in recruitment, promotions/re-grades, in accordance with the appropriate policies.
Other
Support the HR Coordinator in HRIS maintenance, as needed
Special projects and other duties as assigned or as identified
Monitor and control expenditure within budget and ensure accurate reporting of actual spend.
Qualifications:
• Ideally educated to degree level with any HR qualification
• An experienced HR Generalist ideally operating within the travel industry, an online/e-commerce business or the service sector.
• A good understanding of employment law in the jobholder’s region – covering multiple European countries.
• Experience of HR tools and techniques.
• Good communication skills with the ability and credibility to build strong relationships and to operate at all levels are essential.
• German and English, French an asset
• PC literacy – very good knowledge of the standard office software is required (including Word, Excel and Power Point). Previous experience of working with an HR information and a performance review/management system is desirable.
• Able to display a high level of confidentiality and integrity when dealing with employee matters.
• Strong understanding of payroll and benefit functions.
